Career Tips for HRM/Hotel and Restaurant Management

Why others take HRM as their course and why they enter the hospitality industry?

Many students enter the industry because they think that there are lot of opportunities, which is true. Some take this course maybe because they just want it and it is their passion. Some take this because they have their own business related to hospitality or service industry. Just like many of the graduates do, they establish a catering business as their starting because it requires a lower investment and in-demand than others

Several smart students sometimes fail in their career, one of the main reason is they actually not interested in the job, they took the opportunity maybe because of exitement of having a first job or sometimes someone just pushed them to take the opportunity.

When you already got a job, no matter what your position is, as an HRM student which has a background in management that you have learned in school, you must be observant. Observe the organization and how your bosses handles the whole organization and the physical system of the organization from the highest rank to the lower. Doing this, you can learn a lot from it and may aquire a new skill. Because soon you will be a boss too. If you have time you can write what you have observed in bulletted type just to remember the important points. Eventually you can make suggestions in the negative points that you have observed for the improvement of your company or you can apply this when you are already a manager.
