Hotel and Restaurant Management - Hotel Room Service

I listed some of the proper ways for a room service person to do. These simple ways are the standards of some of the best hotels. I have learned these things during college and applied it during on-the-job training. Hope you'll learn something.

1. Arranging Room Service Table

This table is the cart you usually seen in hotels, pushed by service personnel. This table contains what the guests needs. In this tutorial I'll cover two types:

Continental Breakfast and Full Breakfast

a. Continental Breakfast

These are what you will serve in Continental Breakfast:

  • Bread and cereals
  • No cooked food

These are the contents of Continental Breakfast:

  1. bread basket, table cloth
  2. serviette
  3. entree knife and entree fork
  4. flower vase w/ fresh flower and water w/ a dash of sprite(aka lemonade)
  5. side knife and side plate
  6. milk jug - if tea is ordered, milk jug is still used but contains hot water
  7. sugar in sugar bowl
  8. coffee cup and saucer if tea is ordered, cofee cup is still used
  9. filtered coffee in cona (or depends on request)
  10. teaspoon
  11. glass of fruit juice or water (depends on request)

b. Full Breakfast

  • Bread and cereals
  • Cooked foods (Ham, Bacon, sausages, etc.)

These are the contents of Full Breakfast

same with continental breakfast but,
with salt and pepper shaker
basic: sausage, bacon, hash brown, egg
main fork and knife
